Mitsubishi anuncia 8 novos VE's até 2015

"Nissan played it safe by rolling out the LEAF at a slow place, but it appears as though the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has tried a different approach by coming out of the gate with guns blazing.
A few days ago, Mitsubishi confirmed that it will launch eight new electrified vehicles by the year 2015. The announcement of these eight new vehicles comes as a part of Mitsubishi’s “Jump 2013” mid-term business plan. The idea of launching eight electric vehicles by 2015 is an enticing, but can they really pull it off?
According to Japan Corporate News, the plan was devised to reflect the change in automobile industry demand structure caused by worldwide economic turmoil. By focusing business resources on increasingly important areas such as fast-growing, emerging markets, and by reforming cost structure, Jump 2013 aims for “growth and a leap forward”.
Some of the green models that consumers can expect to see being rolled out include an electric commercial vehicle for Japan, which should be arriving some time later this year, as well as a new plug-in hybrid to be sold in the U.S. in 2012. A production version of the PX-MiEV plug-in hybrid SUV, will debut and go on sale in 2013. The eight models will also include Mitsubishi’s first line of plug-in gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles, to be rolled out in the fiscal year starting April 2012.
Oddly enough, Mitsubishi has enlisted the help of rival automaker Nissan (and a select few others) to aid them in achieving their going green goals. No word on how Nissan will aid MMC, but the idea of obtaining help proves to be a smart move by the company. Nissan rolled out the first 100% all-electric EV and it was recently awarded the Eco Car of the Year Award, so who better to get “green” help from than from a company that seems to know what its talking about. MMC is also planning on proceeding with a mini-car joint venture with Nissan Motors. This venture, which will take place in Japan, is being done in an effort to increase domestic production volume and streamline plant operations.
Mitsubishi’s battery-powered i-MiEV, the world’s first commercially produced electric vehicle, will be available for purchase in the U.S. some time later this year."
